Howard sits out with knee injury

The reigning National League MVP is listed as day-to-day.

Howard suffered the injury while running out a fielder's choice grounder in the 10th inning of Wednesday's 13-inning 5-4 loss to Washington.

Howard finished 0-for-5 in the game and is hitting just .213 with one home run and seven RBI this season.

Gregg Dobbs started at first on Thursday and Pat Burrell moved up to the cleanup spot.
