RSL's Saborio named MLS Player of the Month for May

06/01/2010 - New York, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Real Salt Lake forward Alvaro Saborio was voted Major League Soccer's Player of the Month for May, it was announced on Tuesday.

Saborio scored four goals and three assists in five games, helping Real Salt Lake to a 5-0-0 record during the month. He was on the score sheet in all five matches.

"This is just the work of a forward, the work of a number nine," Saborio said. "You have to focus and make goals and be dangerous, and when I make goals I am happy."

This is Saborio's first MLS Player of the Month honor, but he also has an MLS Player of the Week award this season.

The MLS Player of the Month is selected each month of the regular season by a panel of journalists from The North American Soccer Reporters (soccerreporters.com). The group consists of members of online, print, television, and radio media.
