USC releases OL Henderson from letter of intent

07/06/2010 - Los Angeles, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The University of Southern California has released incoming offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson from his national letter of intent.

Henderson, listed at 6-foot-8, 301 pounds, was rated by Rivals.com the No. 1 offensive tackle recruit prior to committing to USC last February.

The Trojans have since been hit with sanctions from the NCAA though, as they are banned from postseason play for the next two seasons and lose 30 scholarships over the next three after an investigation surrounding former Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush.

"We are releasing Seantrel Henderson out of his national letter of intent with zero penalties and no restrictions," said USC head coach Lane Kiffin in a released statement on Tuesday. "Seantrel has been great through the whole process and we wish him the best of luck with his decision."

Henderson, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, made recruiting visits to Florida, Miami- Florida, Notre Dame and Ohio State during the recruitment process.
